The second round of auctions for the allocation of market premiums for renewable energy sources in Serbia, where investors will compete for a total quota of 424.8 MW, has been officially announced.
The Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia announced on its website that of the total quota offered in the auction, 300 MW is allocated for wind power plants, and 124.8 MW for solar power plants.
According to Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Mining and Energy, the increased capacity from clean energy sources provided through these auctions will enhance electricity production in Serbia, contributing to greater economic growth and increased foreign direct investments. Increasing the share of green energy in the energy mix is also crucial for meeting the objectives of the Green Agenda, as its availability is increasingly becoming a requirement for investors considering investments in Serbia.
The Minister emphasized that the maximum offered price in the auction—set at 79 euros per MWh for wind power and 72 euros per MWh for solar power—aims to ensure that the share of green energy increases at a cost acceptable to both citizens and businesses.

This public call introduces certain innovations, the most notable being the additional advantage for investors who, in addition to their offered price, propose a capacity to be supplied to guaranteed suppliers or end-users through power purchase agreements for renewable energy over periods ranging from three to 15 years.
The Minister explained that this approach encourages investments that will ensure energy produced from domestic clean sources is used to meet the needs of citizens and businesses, thereby enhancing Serbia’s energy security.
Additionally, a new measure limits the maximum quota that can be awarded to a single participant in the auction for solar power plants, set at 105 MW for one or more power plants. This ensures fair treatment for smaller producers and their projects compared to large renewable energy producers. Moreover, auction rules stipulate that the offered capacity of a power plant cannot exceed the prescribed quota.
